At that time, she was a member of the crew of the ChaseMaster frigate Winged Dagger, working under Captain Syndor. However, Syndor was later relieved of his duties by Leeha Faal, an order given by High Lord Sarasu Taalon. Sumar was later tasked with guarding Faal's physical form during their mission to the Maw, while Faal was Mind Walking beyond shadows. Tragically, Faal met her end during this process, with her body experiencing spasms and her brain activity ceasing. Sumar swiftly reached out to Syndor, informing him of Faal's demise, which reinstated him as the commander of the Winged Dagger.
