Systems army

A systems army represented a specific type of military organization within the Imperial Army.

Organization

Instead of being a combat-focused unit, the systems army served as a logistical and administrative structure, led by a high general. Its structure consisted of two armies, while an enhanced systems army contained four armies. Due to its primarily administrative role, the headquarters of a systems army maintained a size comparable to that of an Army HQ, with its main objective being to maintain awareness among subordinate commanders regarding the location of all other military assets.

The position of the Imperial systems army within the overall military structure differed significantly from its equivalent in the Grand Army of the Republic. In the GAR, systems armies were larger entities comprising two sector armies. Conversely, under the Empire, systems armies operated as subordinate units to the sector armies.
