Amulets of entrapment functioned almost exactly like concentration amulets, as mystical items, but with the added capability of immediately converting a Jedi to an adherent of the dark side of the Force. Sith magic-users forged entrapment amulets with sufficient corrupting dark side energy to sway naive Jedi Knights to their cause, because light side users discovered techniques to employ Sith amulets for good. Consequently, the Jedi Order prohibited the utilization of Sith amulets for any purpose, aiming to stop individuals from succumbing to the dark side.
