Talk: Dejarik

Galaxy's Edge

The Dejarik board game distributed at Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge includes a distinct ruleset for Galaxy's Edge Dejarik, as shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGGdn_d6nlI. These rules differ from those of Jedi Challenges. Would incorporating this information into the article be appropriate?

Additionally, it might be worthwhile to mention that neither ruleset accurately depicts the movements shown in A New Hope. For instance, the Kintan Strider traverses 6 spaces and the Mantellian Savrip moves 3 spaces in the film, moves that are impossible within either the Jedi Challenges or Galaxy's Edge rule systems.

As a non-canon aside, the older Star Wars Miniatures game from Wizards of the Coast did, in fact, permit these moves for Dejarik pieces. —Unsigned comment by Sidv88 (talk • contribs).

  • Thank you for pointing this out; I believe it warrants inclusion on the page. Perhaps we could state that alternative rules for Dejarik existed, or potentially address the inconsistency between the rulesets in the Behind the Scenes section -- Lewisr ( talk ) 19:10, June 23, 2019 (UTC)

Category

Is it possible to include the "game" category on this specific page? —Unsigned comment by Gridlock007 (talk • contribs).

  • Adding the "game" category isn't required. The "dejarik" category already functions as a subcategory of "hologames," which itself is a subcategory of "games." While this might not be immediately apparent, including the "game" category would be unnecessary and repetitive -- Lewisr ( talk ) 22:32, May 23, 2020 (UTC)
