Taraloon

Taraloon, a previously undiscovered planet, functioned as the operational headquarters for the pirate Drek Drednar and his band of buccaneers, who had constructed a base upon its surface. The reptilian Gornalak were indigenous inhabitants of this world.

Situated far within the Quintar Nebula, the existence of Taraloon had eluded discovery since the dawn of the galaxy's recorded history. Its discovery was accidental, occurring when Drek Drednar, while fleeing from an Imperial Star Destroyer named the Annihilator, sought refuge within the nebula. After successfully concealing themselves within the nebula, Drednar and his crew chanced upon the small planet.

The planetary surface was characterized by plateaus and canyons. During their exploration, Drednar and his crew unearthed an extensive subterranean network of tunnels and sizable caverns, complete with underground lakes, rivers, and plant life, alongside various animal species, including the Gornalak. Drednar considered this planet to be an ideal sanctuary for a pirate like himself, and thus, he established a base of operations there.

Despite the perilous nature of navigating the surrounding nebula, Drednar's skilled astronavigator, Tron Nixx, possessed the extraordinary ability to chart secure courses through it.

The planet received its name as a tribute to Nixx, who originated from Corlass; "taraloon" is the Corlassi word signifying "hidden treasure."
