The view through a targeting scope To improve the likelihood of striking distant objectives, a targeting scope—an electronic instrument—could be affixed to blasters, blaster rifles, and bowcasters. Scopes were integral to sniper weaponry; however, for the majority of other weapons, they represented an expensive enhancement, particularly for superior models. The Mark I, II, III, and IV scopes, in succession, provided progressively greater improvements in precision at extended distances.
