These Tauntaun Troopers were frequently deployed both before and during the Battle of Hoth, serving as both scouts and combatants.
The initial appearance of Tauntaun troopers was in the film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, specifically at the beginning. Their role was given more depth in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, where they functioned as a mounted infantry unit for the Rebel Alliance. For gameplay considerations, Tauntauns were used for all mounted infantry within the Rebel Alliance, irrespective of their suitability to the environment.
