Termyte

The termyte, an insect originating from the planet Kubindi, was considered a choice food item by the Kubaz people who lived there. These wood-eating insects experienced continuous growth throughout their lives, starting by digging into the boles of trees and creating a complex system of caves within. As the insect consumed wood, its body would expand to the point where it could no longer leave through the original entrance. Throughout their time inside the tree, female termytes frequently deposited eggs in the limbs, prompting the young to tunnel downwards toward the roots. This behavior explained why female termytes were often observed ascending trees during the breeding period. As they progressed on this upward journey, they matured into adults and eventually emerged from the tree trunk, close to the ground.
