Following the duel that occurred over Cloud City, Lord Vader makes his way to the Mount Tantiss repository where the Sith encounters his superior, the Emperor.
Vader presents a memento: his lightsaber along with what remained of Luke Skywalker's dismembered hand. Palpatine then discloses that he had already envisioned Skywalker's destiny, before going back to Coruscant.
