Spike (Serenno)
Located within the desolate Aparian Wastes on the planet of Serenno, the Spike functioned as a clandestine prison deep underground. Its construction dates back to the era of the Clone Wars, with its primary purpose being the confinement of captured Jedi warriors.
Description
This underground prison complex, known as The Spike, was situated on the fringes of the Aparian Wastes on the planet Serenno, found in the Outer Rim Territories. Its construction heavily utilized durasteel and ferrocrete. The structure's rooftop featured a perimiter barrier, security checkpoints, as well as living quarters. The upper levels housed essential infrastructure, including comms systems and power generators. The levels below were dedicated to housing security personnel, comprised of both sentients and droids, and included amenities such as a commissary, recreational areas, and changing rooms. Beneath these floors lay the command and control center, serving as the central monitoring hub and the termination point for turbolifts originating from the top floor. Descending further, at least six levels of prisoner cells existed, accessible only via stairways. At the very deepest point of the installation was a unique location known as The Point, which contained a solitary cell intended for the most high-profile prisoners.
History
During the Clone Wars, The Spike was established as a detention facility for captured Jedi. Around 3 BBY, Aveca Dunn, a spy, found herself imprisoned within The Spike after being apprehended by Serenno Spaceport Security while attempting to abduct Count Bron Dooku. Subsequently, Jahan Cross, an agent of Imperial Intelligence and a former romantic partner of Dunn, infiltrated the prison in an effort to liberate her. By disabling the facility's power, thereby releasing all prisoners and creating a widespread distraction, Cross and Dunn successfully escaped the prison by disguising themselves as guards. Following this incident, Gundren was relieved of his duties as Warden of The Spike, and in lieu of facing investigation and potential charges, he returned home and killed himself.
