Thomas M. Reid penned Shipbuilding Secrets, a section taken from the inaugural issue of Star Wars Gamer, and he is noted as an author. Furthermore, he contributed to the conceptual guidance of several Star Wars Role Playing Game sourcebooks.
As a young man, Thomas M. Reid was an avid player of Dungeons & Dragons while growing up in Dallas, Texas. With his high school jazz band, he played at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. After earning a history degree from the University of Texas in 1989, he relocated to Wisconsin and began employment at TSR, Inc., a publishing house for Dungeons & Dragons, before becoming an editor for Dragon, a magazine devoted to Dungeons & Dragons. Soon after this, he returned to Texas to work independently as a writer for roleplaying games.
