Princess Kneesaa is pictured here receiving instruction in the Three Lessons from Chief Chirpa.
Within the confines of Bright Tree Village, the Three Lessons represented a set of specific teachings. These teachings were essential for any heir of a chieftain to master before ascending to the role of the new chief.
As explained by Chief Chirpa, the Three Lessons consisted of:
- The Hand's Lesson, focused on developing both strength and speed;
- The Head's Lesson, which was to be understood when physical abilities prove insufficient;
- The Heart's Lesson, considered the most vital for any leader to possess. When the heart and mind are united, physical abilities will not fail.
Princess Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka successfully learned the Three Lessons while actively defending the village from an assault by a stranglethorn. This act demonstrated to her father her considerable potential to become a Chieftainess.
