Engine
Engines, alternatively referred to as thrusters, were mechanisms employed to move vehicles across terrestrial environments, within a planet's atmospheric envelope, or throughout the vacuum of space. The dimensions and configurations of engines could differ significantly; for example, certain vehicles such as podracers were essentially composed of just a cockpit and a pair of engines.
At a minimum, engines were classified into three distinct types: repulsorlifts (which needed a substantial mass to act against in order to operate), sublight engines (propelling vessels through realspace at velocities less than the speed of light), and hyperdrives (achieving lightspeed and enabling travel through hyperspace).
The propulsive force of engines in certain starships had the capacity to be augmented, thus enhancing the vehicle's velocity. Asteroid thrusters represented a specific engine variant that could be affixed to asteroids for the purpose of relocating them.
