Tiems was a city situated on the planet also named Tiems, which itself was part of the Tiems system located in the Outer Rim Territories. In the era of the Galactic Civil War, the city served as a holding place for thousands of prisoners belonging to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. These prisoners were eventually freed by Alliance forces, led by General Carlist Rieekan, during the Battle of Tiems. The Tiems Road provided connectivity between the city and other settlements, and it sat in close proximity to both the Gopps Forest and the Blue River.
The initial mention of the city of Tiems, along with the battle that occurred nearby, appeared in The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, a publication by West End Games released in 1990. Later, in 2009, The Essential Atlas made mention of a "Tiems system" within its appendix. This particular article operates under the assumption that the city of Tiems is found on a planet within this "Tiems system".
