Tom Fitzgerald


Tom Fitzgerald was employed by Walt Disney Imagineering. Commencing his tenure in 1979, he oversaw the storytelling and production aspects of numerous highly acclaimed Disney park attractions and shows. By 1989, he had risen to the position of executive producer within Theme Park Productions, where he was responsible for the conceptualization, creation, and post-production stages of all cinematic and video presentations featured in Disney parks. In 2001, his responsibilities expanded to include the role of executive vice president and senior creative executive for Walt Disney Imagineering, giving him creative control over both the Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris.

Regarding Star Wars, Tom Fitzgerald collaborated intimately with its creator, George Lucas, on the original Star Tours attraction, also providing the voice for G2-9T. Subsequently, he partnered with Lucas and the skilled teams at Imagineering and Lucasfilm Ltd. to develop the updated 3-D, multi-sensory experience known as Star Tours: The Adventures Continue in 2011, in addition to publishing outlines throughout the year via posts on the Disney Parks Blog. Fitzgerald also produced CinéMagique for Disneyland Paris, a film directed by Jerry Rees that incorporated references to Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
