"Totally Patriotic" was a song in the style of a minga by The Emperor's New Clothes, a musical group that supported the Imperial regime. This song appeared on the album of the same name. That album was released within the galaxy sometime between 0 ABY and 4 ABY (measured in standard years and time). Having received approval from the Imperial Board of Culture, the song became one of the band's popular tracks.
Later, the anti-Imperial group Red Shift Limit created a parody of "Totally Patriotic." They also released a song entitled "Totally Patriotic" on their own album with the same name, but imbued it with a completely different message. The Imperial Board of Culture prohibited the Red Shift Limit version.
Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim, a supplement for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, featured a mention of "Totally Patriotic." Simon Smith and Eric Trautmann authored the guide, which was released in 1993.
