Explosive tow-cable devices represent a type of ordnance innovated on the world of Ralltiir by scientists who were sympathetic to the Rebel cause during the Galactic Civil War. Echoing their designation, these bombs were engineered for deployment by vehicles equipped with power harpoon launchers. The explosive capacity of these bombs was sufficient to completely destroy an entire bridge when detonated.
In preparation for the Defense of Ralltiir, Ralltiir's team of scientists conceived of this bomb as a means of assisting Red Squadron and the Rebel Alliance when they arrived at the planet to help defend against the impending blockade and assault by Imperial troops. They authorized the use of tow cables to deploy the bombs, with the objective of demolishing the bridges leading into the city, thereby hindering the advance of Imperial ground forces.
