TranLang II communications module

The TranLang II communications module came before the very well-known TranLang III communications module. This earlier module had the ability to store approximately a million different communication patterns, making it the best module available at the time. Even though the newer model was much more widely used, it could still be found in operation during the Rebellion era. Even though it wasn't quite as capable as the TranLang III, the module was still incorporated into protocol droids like the J9 worker drone, and educational droids like the TTS-15.
