Transport 22 identified a StarSpeeder 3000 vehicle belonging to the Star Tours travel company. The droids C-3PO and R2-D2 were responsible for the upkeep and fixing of this particular spacecraft during their time employed at the agency, a period that began several months following the Battle of Endor.
A near catastrophe was averted when C-3PO, his attention diverted by an argument with R2-D2 concerning the issue of droid rights, neglected to monitor the fuel pressure and inadvertently cut off the primary fuel supply, only to be alerted by R2-D2 just in time. Furthermore, on multiple occasions, the laser cannons were on the verge of firing, with R2-D2 frequently intervening at the last possible second to deactivate them.
A life-sized replica of this speeder was present within the waiting area of the original Star Tours ride at several Disney theme parks. This same speeder received a new paint job and certain alterations to transform it into a StarSpeeder 1000 for the second iteration of the ride.
