Space barge
A space barge
Space barges served as intra-system starships, tasked with the transportation of goods between [hyperspace](/article/hyperspace/legends]-capable cargo vessels, installations in orbit, and spaceports located on planets. These vessels specialized in short-distance travel, typically lacking a hyperdrive but featuring robust sublight drives and expansive cargo holds. A typical space barge crew consisted of three individuals: a pilot, a co-pilot, and a fifth-degree labor droid. Generally, these barges were not armed, given their operation within well-defended, urbanized systems, and they had minimal deflector shields.
The Incom Corporation produced the X-23 StarWorker, which was a type of intra-system space barge.
