Turner Entertainment, also known as simply Turner, is an American media entity that falls under the ownership of Warner Bros. Discovery. It was revealed on September 14, 2016, that Turner Entertainment had reached an understanding with both The Walt Disney Company and Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, giving them basic cable broadcasting rights to the complete Star Wars series of live-action movies. These films were slated for broadcast on TNT (Turner Network Television) and TBS. The agreement encompassed the initial network showings for five of the original six movies, along with Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker and anthology productions like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The premieres of these films commenced in December 2016, aligning with the cinema debut of Rogue One.
