Tycho, a Jedi Master, served as an instructor within the Jedi Temple located on the planet Coruscant. He was present during the Clone Wars, and was among those who guided the use of war scenarios in training, delivering a term of military strategy instruction to Jedi Padawan learners.
During the year 19 BBY, Tycho challenged the Padawans in his class to thoroughly analyze the errors committed by the Jedi during the Battle of Honoghr. This battle involved biological weapons and resulted in a staggering loss of millions of lives. Furthermore, Tycho requested that each Padawan provide suggestions for improved management of the situation. Whie Malreaux, a student in the class, performed admirably on this task, yet he perceived the solution to be more intricate than either his submitted answer or Master Tycho's viewpoint.
The character of Tycho is referenced within Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, a novel authored by Sean Stewart and released to the public in 2004.
