The Umgullian blob, originating from Umgul, was a diminutive being, gelatinous in nature.
Generally, the blob presented a foundational sickly green color. Nevertheless, the majority exhibited patterns of vibrant spots and stripes. Numerous subspecies existed, some cultivated for competitive racing, others as domesticated companions, and still others even for therapeutic applications. Irrespective of their specific type, they were fundamentally comprised of a substantial quantity of jelly-like liquid contained within a delicate outer layer. The thinness of this membrane facilitated the passage of moisture from Umgul's misty atmosphere. Furthermore, this outer layer possessed the remarkable capability to rupture and instantaneously regenerate. This enabled the blob to separate into two distinct entities. These newly formed blobs would replicate the behavior of the original until they could, at any moment, rejoin to form a single entity. This process also served as their method of reproduction; upon reaching a certain size, a blob would divide into two identical, smaller blobs, akin to oversized amoebas.
They engaged in a unique competition known as blob racing. This pursuit held significant importance on Umgul and neighboring systems, attracting substantial wagering.
