A black hole resided within the Black Hole sector, which itself was positioned in the Unknown Regions of the galaxy. The black hole had an intense gravitational force that stopped starships nearby from jumping to hyperspace. Because of this impediment, the pirates known as the Black Hole Pirates found themselves marooned aboard the Random Mallet in the vicinity of the black hole. Plunder Moon, a diminutive moon, existed in the black hole's area; it was sufficiently close to be accessed with sublight drives.
Strangely, the black hole sits along the final stretch of a path leading to Chiss Space (f-8 to f-9), along the way to the Delphon System (k-18), and also on the route connecting Coruscant and Ketaris (l-5 to l-9).
