A Carosite smuggler was apprehended by the forces of the Galactic Empire in the era of the Galactic Civil War. The Dark Lord of the Sith, known as Darth Vader, manipulated the dark side of the Force to warp the mind of the Carosite, transforming him into a primitive being driven by fear. Subsequently, the one-time smuggler was converted into a devoted guardian for Vader, positioned on the planet of Belsavis. During 12 ABY, Han Solo, a Human agent of the New Republic, and his Wookiee companion Chewbacca, faced this creature within the catacombs located on Belsavis.
