Unidentified clone trooper (Post 473)

A clone trooper fought for the Galactic Republic's Grand Army throughout the duration of the Clone Wars. He once found himself stationed on a particular planet, where his commanding officers designated his position as Post 473. The mission given to this clone was to demolish a crucial bridge, thereby preventing a Separatist droid convoy from successfully crossing it and seizing control of a nearby mining colony. However, a pair of native creatures pilfered the rockets intended for his missile launcher, leading the soldier on a chase to recover them. This pursuit led the clone trooper through a series of unfortunate events, yet he ultimately accomplished his objective of destroying the bridge. He achieved this by locating the stolen rockets near a support structure of the bridge and detonating them with shots from his blaster pistol just as the droid forces were attempting to cross. As the clone began to gather his equipment, the creatures stole the missile launcher, compelling him to pursue them once more.

Biography

The clone trooper notices that the rockets for his cannon are missing.

Originating as a Human clone derived from the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett on the planet of Kamino, this individual served the Galactic Republic as a clone trooper within the Grand Army during the Clone Wars. These conflicts began on the Outer Rim world of Geonosis in the year 22 BBY. At some point during the conflict, the trooper was assigned to Post 473 on an unnamed world. There, he was stationed with a cannon overlooking a bridge. He received orders from his commander to await the arrival of the Separatist Droid Army, expected in approximately three hours. With Republic reinforcements facing delays, this lone trooper represented the only immediate obstacle to the droids on their path to a nearby mining colony. His specific task was to demolish the bridge spanning the canyon, effectively halting the enemy's advance.

He started to fine-tune the positioning of his rocket launcher, but his work was interrupted when one of the local creatures absconded with the rockets intended for the cannon. The creature fled into a nearby hole with the rockets. The clone followed, retrieving his rockets, only to discover that the tunnel's structure couldn't bear his weight. The creature escaped, leaving the clone—still holding the rockets—to plunge into an underground lake. There, he used a rebreather to survive beneath the surface. Immediately after recovering the rockets, he was attacked and consumed by a large aquatic creature. However, he managed to create an exit by shooting a hole in the creature's stomach and swimming free. Once out of the creature, he was swept away by the underground current.

Spotting a waterfall ahead, the clone attempted to hold onto a rock, but the same creature reappeared. The creature struck the clone's hands with another rock, causing him to lose his grip. The trooper plummeted over the waterfall, landing safely at the base of the very bridge he was tasked with destroying. He then observed that the Separatists were in the process of crossing the bridge, and he also located the rockets at the base of one of the bridge's support beams. Thinking quickly, the clone used his blaster pistol to shoot the rockets, causing a chain reaction that led to the bridge's destruction and the annihilation of the droid army. Exhausted and wet, the trooper returned to his initial post, preparing to pack up the cannon and move on to his next assignment. However, the small creatures from before reappeared, stealing the cannon and fleeing. The clone gave chase to the two creatures once more.

Personality and traits

The clone trooper chased the two blue creatures because they stole his equipment.

The clone trooper showed clear frustration when the two creatures ran off with his equipment. Despite this, he remained determined to recover the rockets and ultimately found a way to accomplish his mission of destroying the bridge, even without the cannon he originally intended to use. He wore Phase I clone trooper armor adorned with red markings, and he carried a blaster pistol and a rebreather. Physically, the clone shared the same characteristics as Jango Fett, including black hair parted by a line, brown eyes, and tan skin. His height was 1.83 meters.

Behind the scenes

The clone trooper's initial appearance was in the short story titled Waiting, which was included in the tenth volume of the Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures trade paperbacks. The character was created and illustrated by Matthew and Shawn Fillbach.
