This courier droid endured torture while under the watchful eye of EV-9D9, the droid foreman working for Jabba the Hutt.
The silver-colored droid emitted cries of agony as its right arm was forcibly detached by a traction-test bed.
Behind the scenes
It's worth noting that this droid shares a resemblance in its physical form to 2-1B and is frequently referred to by the fanon designation 2-1A, although this name remains unconfirmed. This particular droid is occasionally mistaken for the "interpreter droid" that incurred Jabba's wrath, as well as a CZ-series communications/business droid who was ultimately superseded by C-3PO. Within the game Star Wars: Battlefront II, it can be observed alone within the torture room, exhibiting a nearly severed leg. The characteristics of its vocabulator differ from those of a 2-1B surgical droid.
