Ania encounters a giant beetle Giant beetles, a species with reddish exoskeletons, were native to the fourth planet in a distant system not far from the planet of Lasgo Port. These creatures were not aggressive towards sentient life forms. Their primary food source was glass, which they consumed during the planet's common "glass storms." A number of these beetles lived within the remains of an ancient temple. Ania Solo and Ramid, her abductor, came across multiple specimens of this species after she was taken.
