A tusked creature of Endor, a forested moon orbiting the planet also called Endor, existed as a non-sentient being. This beast emitted a potent smell and was sometimes utilized as lure by the local Ewoks, a species of bear-resembling furry bipeds. During the events of 4 ABY, the heroes comprised of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2 from the Rebel Alliance were ensnared in an Ewok hunter's trap, which employed such a creature as bait.

This mammalian species that dwelled on the verdant Endor, one of the nine satellites in orbit around the gas giant planet also named Endor, was considered non-sentient. Its short, rough fur was predominantly tan, excluding the white fur covering the underbelly and encircling the mouth (which resembled a mane). When visible, its flesh displayed a pinkish tint. This creature possessed a small mouth featuring four prominent tusks, with two curving upwards. A white mane adorned the ridge of its head, and it had small eyes with golden irises. It also possessed cloven hooves and legs similar to those of a horse. A potent odor emanated from the bodies of these animals, which many carnivorous species found appealing. The Wookiees, a race of hairy giants hailing from the planet Kashyyyk, exhibited a strong attraction to the scent of this Endorian tusked creature, inducing a state akin to "olfactory delirium."

During 4 ABY, a dead specimen of this tusked species served as the bait for an Ewok trap that captured Rebel Alliance members Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2. Chewbacca discerned the animal's scent amidst the trees. In a clearing, a tall stake was erected, suspending the bait. The aroma of raw meat proved irresistible to the famished Wookiee, who succumbed to temptation and approached the stake. As Chewbacca attempted to extract a piece of flesh from the carcass, a massive net suddenly enveloped the adventurers, hoisting them high above the ground.
The Endorian tusked creature made its debut appearance in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, the concluding chapter of the original Star Wars trilogy, released in 1983. It also featured in various adaptations of the film, including the novelization, the comic series, and the radio dramatization.
This article assumes the tusked creature lacks sentience, as both Return of the Jedi and the 1998 CD-ROM Star Wars: Behind the Magic explicitly label it an "animal." Given the dense coat of fur covering its body, it is probable that this species is mammalian, though no Legends source has explicitly confirmed this.
