―The boy greets Caleb Dume before they spar A red-skinned male Zeltron youngling belonged to the Jedi Order during the final decades of the Galactic Republic's reign. He trained as a student in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant, regularly sparring with fellow youngling Caleb Dume using training weapons. The Zeltron once attended a lecture by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Temple's central security station. Kenobi explained to the younglings there that the Jedi beacon was a signal capable of summoning all Jedi across the galaxy back to Coruscant. Dume, who was also present, asked Kenobi a series of questions about the beacon, and the Zeltron boy later mocked him for it during their next sparring session.Behind the scenes

―John Jackson MillerThe youngling first appeared, but was not named, in A New Dawn, a novel written by John Jackson Miller and published in 2014.The boy's species was not identified in the book, as Miller wanted to demonstrate how cosmopolitan the Star Wars galaxy was by ensuring that the species of others would not even cross the minds of point-of-view characters. The author later posted the novel's production notes on his blog, which revealed that the boy was a Zeltron.
