Universal definition of life

The concept of a universal definition of life was championed by Obo Rin, an Imperial sentientologist, who theorized about the characteristics that set apart a living being from a non-living entity, like a droid. Rin posited that living beings needed to demonstrate structural organization into a distinct morphology, react to environmental stimuli, metabolize fuel for energy, replicate themselves, and evolve to accommodate environmental shifts. Rin detailed this definition in his publication, Catalog of Intelligent Life in the Galaxy.
