Magna Guard
If you are considering the restoration of the Magna Guard page, it is advisable to examine this link to understand the specific issues that resulted in its prior demotion. Additionally, given that this is your first nomination, it is essential to become acquainted with the nomination guidelines, the Style Guide, the Formatting Guide, and the various Wook policies. Best of luck! - Cavalier One(Squadron channel) 07:50, June 14, 2011 (UTC)
- I performed some copy-editing on the MagnaGuard entry, and one issue I observed was the writing style. The prose feels awkward, notably in the later sections that discuss appearances in The Clone Wars. However, this particular page, due to the abundance of available source material and appearances, has the potential to become a Featured Article. If you are willing to take on this challenge, I recommend aiming for that. While it will require a significant time investment (I've been working on one for over a year!), the final product will be rewarding. As Cavalier One mentioned earlier, familiarizing yourself with the Style Guide, Formatting Guide, and relevant policies will facilitate the process. The most difficult aspect might be locating the necessary sources, but you will undoubtedly find someone who possesses the source you require. I suggest joining the IRC channel , where you can obtain real-time assistance. Good luck! Trak Nar Ramble on 08:49, June 14, 2011 (UTC)
To reiterate Cavalier One's point, ensure you are thoroughly acquainted with the Style Guide, the Formatting Guide, the nomination rules, and all other Wookieepedia policies before even contemplating nominating the article. I cannot overstate the significance of adhering to these guidelines and rules; far too often, nominations are immediately rejected due to a complete failure to meet the requirements. The reason the "On-board Utilities" was displayed as a text box was due to an incorrectly placed space before the text. Frankly, I am not aware of anyone who possesses an in-depth knowledge of the subject. While I consider myself an expert on TCW, I am uncertain how much assistance I can provide, considering the MagnaGuard's establishment predates the television series. The primary issue with the article currently is that it lacks complete updates regarding all Appearances and Sources. You will need to verify every instance in which it appears or is mentioned and incorporate all pertinent information into the article before it can even be considered for nomination as a FAN or GAN. In all honesty, given current standards, the article is quite far from being ready for promotion. I suggest reviewing some of the existing Featured and Good Articles to understand the current expectations for promoted articles. I hope this helps. CC7567 (talk) 01:35, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
Voting policy
According to site policy, you still do not have the 50 mainspace edits needed for your votes to be considered valid. Please do not remove the strikethrough from your vote on the Blotus the Hutt nomination until you meet this requirement. Furthermore, it is not advisable to make minor edits simply to reach the required vote count, particularly when many of your edits are being reversed for various reasons. Speedy deletion
Avoid adding CSD templates to pages without a valid reason. The parachute article, for example, contained a legitimate source. If you believe it should be deleted, you should submit it to the Trash compactor, as the community as a whole may not share your reasons for deletion. Thank you for your cooperation.—Cal Jedi (Personal Comm Channel) 04:14, February 20, 2012 (UTC)
Removing content
While your contributions are valued, please be aware that you removed sourced information from the IG-100 MagnaGaurds page. You are welcome to improve the article, but please be mindful of preserving sourced information. Thank you, JangFett (Talk) 05:04, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
- The length of the article should not be a concern, as this type of droid is featured in numerous sources. While there are some "major events," all other relevant information should be included in the article, even if it does not achieve complete comprehensiveness. You are welcome to perform any necessary cleanup, but removing sourced information is considered vandalism. JangFett (Talk) 05:19, February 25, 2012 (UTC) When condensing sentences that contain sourced information, detail is crucial, as long as it avoids becoming a play-by-play account. If you are unfamiliar with a source, it is best to refrain from editing it until you can verify it yourself or find someone who can do so. JangFett (Talk) 05:33, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
