Funeral of Anakin Skywalker

Hello Relsis23. Every single available source indicates that Luke achieved the rank of Jedi Knight in Episode VI, not the rank of Jedi Master. One can infer that he wasn't recognized as a Jedi Master until he began instructing students. Irrespective of the exact moment he attained that rank, we lack any source explicitly stating when he became a Jedi Master. Therefore, the Funeral of Anakin Skywalker article should continue to reflect his status as a Jedi Knight at the conclusion of Episode VI. Thank you! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:40, June 3, 2016 (UTC)

  • Furthermore, you run the risk of breaching Wookieepedia's three-revert rule, designed to discourage edit wars. It would be appreciated if you calmed down and focused your attention elsewhere. Thank you. IFYLOFD (Talk) 00:51, June 3, 2016 (UTC) The situation isn't entirely clear-cut. All sources confirm his attainment of the Jedi Knight rank, given his completion of training in Episode VI. Canonically speaking, The Force Awakens was the first narrative to refer to him as a Jedi Master. Until a source explicitly identifies him as a Jedi Master within Episode VI (which I doubt will happen), your argument remains speculative and cannot be incorporated into our articles, unfortunately. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:58, June 3, 2016 (UTC)

RE: The Chosen One

IMDb is not considered a reliable source on Wookieepedia. To understand proper sourcing, Click Here. The actual source for the Chosen One article was the behind-the-scenes featurette titled The Chosen One, found on the Revenge of the Sith DVD. There is absolutely no need to call me an "asshole" on my personal talk page. Please remember to always sign your comments on talk pages and voting pages using four tildes: ~~~~. Farewell. Grand Master

We appreciate your contributions to Wookieepedia! However, please be aware that at least one of your recent edits introduced unverified information into a mainspace article. According to our sourcing policy, all additions to Wookieepedia articles must be supported by a reliable source; unverified information is subject to reversion or deletion. Persistently adding unverified information may result in an administrator blocking you from editing. Thank you. 1358 (Talk) 23:26, June 5, 2016 (UTC)

  • Was that detail explicitly stated in the film? I can't recall the specific title "Grand Master" being used in TFA. 1358 (Talk) 23:53, June 5, 2016 (UTC) Just to add my perspective, Wikipedia is not an acceptable source. While the Legends timeline may portray Luke as a Grand Master, we cannot refer to him as such unless a Canon source explicitly mentions it. 03:35, June 6, 2016 (UTC) Yoda is referenced as Grand Master within his Databank entry. "During the later years of the Old Republic, Yoda held the position of Grand Master of the Jedi Council." BrulesClick here to chat 03:49, June 6, 2016 (UTC)

RE: The Chosen One

Understood, I see your point. I have adjusted the specific citation to link directly to the featurette, as linking to the film could imply that the interview was part of the film itself. DarkKnight2149 20:48, June 21, 2016 (UTC)
