Talk: Thick Metal
Greetings, Thick Metal!
Regarding the Star Wars books you may not have encountered
Hey there,
I regret if my reverting your edit caused any frustration; that was not my intention at all. Supplying a summary of your edit is the most effective way to prevent misunderstandings like this between editors. I would also recommend proofreading for spelling and grammar before submitting a new version of an article, but I understand that some errors can be easily overlooked. If the sources corroborate the information, please feel free to reinstate it in the article. Best, LucaRoR (Discussion) 18:06, December 23, 2021 (UTC)
- The primary issue wasn't grammar; my concern was that the added information lacked sources (which happens frequently, believe me). In any case, I'm pleased that we've resolved this matter. I look forward to seeing your continued contributions. LucaRoR (Discussion) 18:47, December 23, 2021 (UTC)
Empty Sections and Formatting Guidelines
Hi, and thanks for your contributions to Wookieepedia! Please be aware that articles should not include empty sections (headings without any content beneath them). If you're in the process of editing a section, you can use the template at the top of the page. If you don't plan to add content to those sections, please remove them as soon as possible. Also, the "Layout" and "History" sections should appear before the "Behind the scenes" section. Thank you for your understanding. Loqiical (talk) 06:20, December 30, 2021 (UTC)
Regarding: What is going on?
Hello, Thick Metal. Concerning your initial point, I suggest you address the issue directly with the individual involved, as I am not very knowledgeable about the matter you're raising. Regarding your second point, I understand you may want to create a page for the character you mentioned. If that's the case, please proceed with creating the page, as all Wookieepedia editors are encouraged to do so. On the subject of your second point and your concern about Sanctuary (cantina), all Wookieepedia editors are encouraged to contribute to an article if it's lacking information. I wasn't lecturing you about why the page is blank or a stub. My point was that sections should not be left empty when headings are added. Regarding your third point, nobody is suggesting that you lack knowledge on the subject. Again, all Wookieepedia editors are encouraged to enhance articles. If you're unsure about something, feel free to ask. Regarding your fourth point, if you're inclined to speculate, you can always consult another Wookieepedia editor. This is different from adding headings without any content. Adding headings implies an intention to add information. If you don't intend to add information, avoid adding empty headings. Regarding your fifth point, your observation is accurate and would be a valuable addition to the page, thereby filling the section and improving the article. I trust this clarifies things. Regarding Boba Fett
Hi there! In response to your question, there's no fixed timeline. Since Wookieepedia is entirely created and maintained by fans in our free time, it's impossible to predict exactly when something will be added. However, feel free to be bold and give it a shot yourself! I hope this is helpful. Supreme Emperor Holocomm 22:55, December 30, 2021 (UTC)
Response
Because the information you included was not cited to a source, it violates policy that requires all information to be cited. Lewisr (talk) 01:09, January 11, 2022 (UTC)
- The edit summary indicated speculation/unverified info, which is accurate because you didn't provide a source for the information. If Tales from Jabba's Palace contains that information, you should cite the book as the source. You can refer to the sourcing policy to learn how to create references, or let me know, and I can add it for you. Lewisr ( talk ) 01:43, January 11, 2022 (UTC) That is what appears in the summary when it is selected from the dropdown menu Lewisr (talk) 03:15, 11 January 2022 (UTC) I believe you're slightly missing my point. I'm not questioning your knowledge; I simply reverted the edit because it was unsourced, leaving me unaware of its origin. You need to include the information along with a reference next to it. Consult the link I shared above to learn how to create one, or ask for assistance if needed. Lewisr (talk) 03:27, 11 January 2022 (UTC) I've already explained my reason for reverting the addition: you didn't include a reference, which is required by policy. It's really that simple. Regardless of what other pages may say, you must include a reference. I regret that I can't assist with the slow page loading. You could ask an administrator for help or join the Discord server. Lewisr (talk) 19:21, 12 January 2022 (UTC) Provided that the information is actually in the source, have you personally confirmed that the information is present in those sources? Lewisr (talk) 19:25, 12 January 2022 (UTC) I can assure you that no one engages in such behavior on the Wookieepedia server. You're welcome to join our server if you wish, but if not, that's perfectly fine. Refer to Wookieepedia:Sourcing for guidance on referencing, or, as I offered, I can add it if you indicate the correct source. Lewisr (talk) 14:04, 15 January 2022 (UTC) Okay, thank you for verifying those sources! If you add the information, I'll know which sources to reference. Lewisr (talk) 18:33, 15 January 2022 (UTC) You're welcome! I'm glad I could assist in resolving the issue. Just let me know when you're ready. Lewisr (talk) 18:45, 15 January 2022 (UTC)
