V-3P5, or 'Vee-Three' as he was also known, served as the property of Drextar Pym, a Senator in the New Republic. This protocol droid's primary duty was to safeguard Pym's offspring, namely Kyle and Dirv Pym. In the course of a failed assassination, perpetrated by a deranged former Storm commando (insane), the droid sustained critical damage, yet continued to operate and was eventually saved by a diverse group of spacers.
