For many years, Doc and his team of technicians were pursued by the Authority and other official entities, yet they remained uncaught. They maintained a secure network, cultivating connections with corrupt officials and intelligence sources. On multiple occasions, strike forces targeted Doc's outlaw tech bases, only to discover locations devoid of anything except derelict structures and worthless scrap.
Throughout the galaxy's criminal underworld, Doc's operation was well-known. His technicians repaired vehicles that had sustained damage in firefights and altered the identification and visual characteristics of ships... discreetly. Doc also engaged in the purchase and sale of stolen high-value equipment and the unauthorized acquisition of drone barges during their operation. In 2 BBY, Doc and Jessa's group of outlaws consisted of numerous males, females, humans, and non-humans, in addition to a diverse collection of droids and other automated units. Their repair, modification, and salvage services included equipping spacecraft with powerful weaponry, advanced sensor systems, military-grade deflector shields, superlight-speed engines, or any combination of these. To avoid patrols and escape capture, the Vandangante outlaw techs frequently relocated from one system to another, carefully guarding their location. If machinery-related assistance was required and their stringent vetting process was satisfied, Doc and his technicians were capable of providing it.
