Vanguard probot

The Vanguard probot, a probe droid of the second-degree variety, was conceived and built by Arakyd Industries in the waning decades of the Galactic Republic. Its purpose was to aid deep-space scouts and explorers by charting new hyperspace routes. Vanguard droids allowed organic scouting teams to avoid making potentially dangerous jumps into uncharted areas.
