Velmooine, a planet of desert landscapes, orbited the star known as Velm as the second planet in its system, with four moons circling it. This planet could be found within the Velm system, which itself resided in the Halori sector of the Mid Rim's Trans-Hydian region.
The roleplaying game supplement "Velmor: Royalty and Rebellion," authored by Cory Herndon and released on Wizards.com by Wizards of the Coast on March 6, 2003 for their Star Wars Roleplaying Game, was the first mention of Velmooine. Subsequently, The Essential Atlas, published in 2009, designated grid square P-7 as the location of the Velm system, thus pinpointing Velmooine's location as well.
