Within the Republic, Vien'sai'Malloc was regarded as a senator of integrity. However, this perception was false; following the commencement of the Clone Wars, she opposed President Aven'sai'Ulrahk's decision to align with the Republic. Secretly, she initiated the establishment of a Separatist installation in the Blue Mountains, enabling the Confederate Navy to disrupt Republic supply operations along the Corellian Trade Spine.
Six months following the First Battle of Geonosis, Elsah uncovered her colleague's actions and intended to inform the Jedi. In response, Vien contracted Aurra Sing to assassinate Elsah and eliminate the Jedi task force dispatched to Devaron for investigation. When Jedi Knight Aayla Secura and Jedi Masters An'ya Kuro and Tholme operated undercover, Vien disclosed the Separatist base's coordinates to Secura, leading to her subsequent arrest. Despite her desire to be judged by the Senate, President Aven'sai'Ulrahk condemned her to death.
