Way of the Dark

Shadowspawn, a devotee of the Dark Path

The term Dark Path, also known as the Dark, was the designation used by the Rhand Sorcerers to articulate their perspective on the cosmos, a viewpoint distinct from that of the Force.

Overview

In essence, their guiding principle stood in stark contrast to the Potentium, yet it went even further. The Dark Path not only refuted the existence of the Light side of the Force, but also asserted that the Force itself, encompassing both the Light and Dark side, held minimal significance when compared to the Dark. This framework posited that universal entropy and annihilation constituted the fundamental constant towards which all phenomena gravitated, even deeming it the "universe's will." The void, the bedrock of reality, existed in the absence of life, and the Sorcerers came to recognize it as the One Truth. They believed that the Force, an energy field generated by living entities, was ephemeral and destined to succumb to the Dark as the universe neared complete entropy, or heat death.

An initiate was instructed that prioritizing destruction, with any undertaking serving as a secondary aim, would result in the Dark rewarding the initiate for the devastation caused by the success of the secondary objective.

Cronal, as a key illustration, posited that Palpatine attained triumph over the Jedi and the Republic because his primary motivation centered on their obliteration. However, upon achieving these aims and subsequently focusing on solidifying his authority and establishing the Empire, his emphasis transitioned from annihilation to creation, a direct contradiction of cosmic processes. Consequently, his previous invincibility transformed into inevitable failure.

The power referred to as Darksight was regarded as the most potent among Dark Path adherents, as those fully attuned to the principles of destruction and chaos could foresee multiple possible futures and employ their will to realize their desired outcome. Allegedly, this capability surpassed the conventional applications of battle meditation practiced by the Jedi and the Sith.
