Wookieepedia:Status Article Nominations Awards
(See the 2022 edition here!)
Welcome to the 2023 Status Article Nomination Awards! Greetings everyone, and a warm reception to the Wookieepedia Status Article Nomination Awards for the year 2023! For those who experienced the initial event last year, this occasion is a celebration of the quantitative accomplishments of Wookieepedia's contributors within our site's status article nominations (SAN) framework, encompassing the Featured, Good, and Comprehensive article nominations pathways.
The mechanics of the Status Article Nomination Awards involve NBDani and Imperators II gathering data pertaining to the status article nominations throughout 2023, with invaluable support from LucaRoR who extracts information from the source code of archived nomination pages. Subsequently, Imperators converts this code into a structured format suitable for spreadsheet management. Dani then employs their exceptional spreadsheet expertise to develop and maintain a dynamic system that uses nomination data as input, providing us with a diverse range of statistical insights into the contributors' efforts. The term "Input data on nominations" refers to the scraping of source code mentioned previously, alongside the meticulous monitoring of both the SAN archiving procedure and the administration of status article portfolios by WookieeProjects.
Greef Karga showing Din Djarin the status article progress over the past year The year 2023 was a significant one for the SAN, highlighted by an increase in the permitted number of concurrent Comprehensive and Good nominations, rising from four to six. This change is reflected in the augmented number of articles approved in 2023 compared to 2022. As in previous years, these achievements would not have been possible without the considerable assistance of our esteemed SAN archivist bot, JocastaBot (overseen by Cade Calrayn), and the dedicated, unwavering work of our SA review panel members and other nomination reviewers. We extend our gratitude to each of you!
Important Technical Information
Dani working hard on the SAN data As in the previous year, a key consideration was the limitation placed on nominators who are not affiliated with the AgriCorps and Inquisitorius status article review panels, restricting them to a maximum of six active Good article nominations and four active Featured article nominations concurrently. Consequently, any comparison of the quantity of status articles promoted between AC/Inq members and non-AC/non-Inq members is likely to encounter challenges related to equitable assessment. Therefore, we separated these two user groups early in the process of identifying the most productive nominators.
For the sake of practicality, users who were promoted to membership of the review panels during the year in question (for example, Lewisr joined the Inq in mid-2023) were considered panel members for the entire year, rather than dividing their contributions into separate segments. Additionally, any users who are currently blocked were excluded from the competition. For clarity, the data used in this year's SAN Awards is current as of January 10, 2024.

This year, our MVNs are AmazinglyCool (112 points) from the non-Inq/AC group and Imperators II (259 points) from the panel members.

This year, one status article nomination, by Braha'tok enthusiast, was associated with a total of 10 WookieeProjects:
- Bestine IV — Ambition ; Astrography ; Battlefront ; Comics ; Fantasy Flight Games ; Novels ; Star Wars: Card Trader ; The Clone Wars ; The High Republic ; Video Games
Dates with the Most SA Activity
The following dates in 2023 saw the highest number of new status articles added to Wookieepedia's SA collection. It's interesting to note that in 2022, the highest numbers of CAs and SAs overall, and of FAs, were also in August and mid-March, respectively. It's almost... eerie.
Reviewing Your Personal Data

Are you interested in examining the data related to your own status article nominations? To enable nominators to thoroughly review their statistics, we have developed this tool. To gain access (and allow others to do so simultaneously!), please follow the link and then, in the top menu of the Google Sheets spreadsheet that appears, click File > Make a copy.
Within the Year in Review spreadsheet, you can input your Wookieepedia username in the yellow cell A2 and the year for which you wish to review data in the yellow cell B2. If you leave the username field blank, the tool will display the aggregate data for all nominators for that year. Please be aware that the tool now incorporates data from all years up to 2023, although data prior to 2022 may be incomplete.
