Wrix

The wrix represented a mountain-based species of sizable beast, perfectly adapted for participation in arena combat.

Biological Attributes and Physical Form

Wrixes existed as mountain-dwelling carnivores, primarily subsisting on smaller fauna. They possessed formidable, sharp claws.

Variations within the Species

The gray wrix stood out as the most frequently encountered sub-species. While also possessing a dark gray coloration, the Corellian wrix distinguished itself through larger ears and a heightened level of aggression. The Tanthior wrix, reaching a height of 3.5 meters, showcased elongated legs, an evolutionary adaptation facilitating increased speed in the pursuit of herd-based prey.

Behavioral Patterns

In their natural habitat, these beings hunted smaller animals; however, when in proximity to human settlements, they would consume domestic animals, including pets. Exhibiting strong territorial instincts, they actively defended their hunting territories against other creatures. When circumstances demanded it, they engaged in pack hunting to subdue larger prey, even including Humans. While wrixes typically hunted at all hours, they favored nighttime assaults when targeting Humans. This tendency has prompted some to suggest a level of intelligence beyond initial assumptions.

Historical Context

For millennia, the wrix has been depicted in traditional narratives as a monstrous entity, particularly on Corellia.
