A scientist with expertise in the field of xenozoology, which is the study of alien wildlife, was known as a xenozoologist. In the five centuries following the settlement of the planet Lamaredd, xenozoologists working for the Galactic Republic were unsuccessful in their attempts to categorize all of the perilous creatures residing in its forests. Furthermore, they held the incorrect assumption that the sentient indigenous inhabitants, the Menahuun, had suffered complete extinction.
