Zaalbar's bowcaster represented a prized possession for Zaalbar, standing out as one of the few items he personally owned. During his extensive exile, he significantly altered it, yet its design largely adhered to the customs of the Wookiee settlement known as Rwookrrorro. Upon Zaalbar's capture by Gamorrean slavers within the Undercity on Taris, his bowcaster was seized, only to be reclaimed after he pledged a life debt to Revan.
The initial appearance of Zaalbar's bowcaster was in the roleplaying game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, released in 2003. Players had the option to dispose of it upon acquiring it; they could either sell it to any merchant or store it in any available container.
