This organization commenced its activities as far back as the days of the Galactic Republic. During the time of the Galactic Empire, the Empire found it advantageous to provide them with discounted slaver permits, due to their size and operational structure. Their primary trade involved Twi'leks and indigenous Mandalorians. Terrinald Screed himself guaranteed the quality of their Twi'lek slaves. Occasionally, the Guild also traded in Wookiees, but they were unable to overcome the dominance that the Trandoshans held within the Kashyyyk system.
As the New Republic gained power, the Zygerrian Slavers Guild diminished from its prior strength, as the new galactic authority prohibited slavery. However, the practice persisted in criminal underworlds, and the Zygerrians kept providing slaves to Hutt crime families and other similar organizations.
