The Grand Army of the Republic included the 101st Regiment, a military unit of clone troopers numbering over 2,000, and belonging to the 7th Legion. This regiment was under the command of Jedi Padawan Danyawarra, who became its Jedi Commander during the Clone Wars. A subordinate unit within the 101st was the Hawkbat Battalion, whose regiment members engaged in combat on a soil-covered planet, receiving air support from LAAT/i gunships.
