The 291st Legion functioned as a part of the Galactic Empire's Stormtrooper Corps, and was classified as a legion. What made it stand out was that it was among a small number of Stormtrooper units that allowed female soldiers to enlist. A notable member, Isila Drutch, was stationed within the Dalisor system with the 291st after her completion of the Academy of Carida. Furthermore, TD-1123 and TD-5144 were two additional women who were a part of this group.
The legion participated in combat operations in the vicinity of the Yushan sector. Specifically, it fought against native rebels on the planet of Jiroch-Reslia, where TD-1123 met her death.
