Biography

Born before 10 BBY, Isila Drutch, a female, originated from the New Territories planet of Parshoone. Her father served aboard the Galactic Republic Tector-class Star Destroyer Archer at the conclusion of the Clone Wars, a war between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Republic, which would later evolve into the Galactic Empire. Despite her father's stories of his navy days, Drutch favored solid ground. She spent her childhood drawing fortifications and arranging battle lines instead of playing with Tooka dolls.

Growing up, Drutch actively participated alongside the other Parshoone inhabitants. When she turned seventeen, she applied to the Imperial-aligned Parshoone Sector Service Academy, pursuing training in an army concentration. After her initial year, Drutch excelled, leading the commandant to offer her sponsorship at the renowned Raithal Academy. However, Drutch requested the equally prestigious Academy of Carida instead. A major from Carida evaluated Drutch over three grueling days of training, during which Drutch was deprived of sleep. Upon completing his assessment, the major approved her transfer to Carida. Arriving at Carida, Drutch initially faced curious stares due to her gender, but these subsided as she proved her fitness equal to her peers.

Following four years of training, Drutch joined the Stormtrooper Corps as part of the 291st Legion Dalisor, receiving the designation TD-4388. She became the first female stormtrooper in her company, although TD-5144 and TD-1123 were two others in her legion. Within the 291st, Drutch shared the barracks with the men, despite being female. Sometime after becoming a stormtrooper, while on leave in a subpar cantina, some of her squadmates showed her a poster of a female stormtrooper in femtrooper gear, an exaggeratedly feminized version of stormtrooper armor, and questioned why she wasn't wearing the same. Drutch found this amusing. In 33 ABY, Drutch remained with the 291st, even though the Imperial Remnant had replaced the Empire, and possessed memoirs documenting her experiences.

Personality and traits

Drutch was shorter than most stormtroopers, but she was physically fit, capable of enduring a three-day physical training assessment without sleep. She also demonstrated superior marksmanship and endurance in combat compared to many other troopers. She chose the Academy of Carida over Raithal when the commandant offered to sponsor her.

During her four years of stormtrooper training, Drutch's mindset shifted to align with that of a stormtrooper, and she fought alongside her fellow troopers regardless of her gender. She held strong opinions about female stormtroopers, believing that the lack of awareness about their presence in the Corps stemmed from ignorance. Drutch acknowledged that fewer females served in the Stormtrooper Corps, attributing this to the absence of female clone lines and the physiological challenges that prevented most females from completing stormtrooper training.

Drutch laughed when presented with the concept of femtrooper gear. She considered it impractical, particularly the chest plate resembling two gravity well projectors and the exposed midriff, which she deemed unsuitable for combat.
