3224
3224 was a turbolift aboard the Invisible Hand, a Providence-class Dreadnought, accessible from the Wizard's Tower situated at the dreadnought's peak. During 19 BBY, amidst the Clone Wars conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, having killed Separatist leader Count Dooku and liberating Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine from captivity during the space battle occurring above Coruscant, the planet, attempted to utilize 3224 to descend to the craft's lower sections.
However, due to the ongoing combat, the turbolift was inoperable, compelling Skywalker to instruct his astromech droid, R2-D2, to restore its function. As R2 labored to reactivate the turbolift, the Invisible Hand became unstable during a broadside exchange with the Venator-class Star Destroyer Guarlara, leading to the astromech's fall into the dreadnought's primary hangar, distancing him from the controls.
Despite this, Palpatine and Skywalker (the latter carrying an unconscious Obi-Wan Kenobi, rendered so during his duel with Dooku), managed to enter the turbolift shaft as the vessel began its descent. Consequently, they were able to traverse the shaft while it was horizontally aligned. Once General Grievous commanded his personnel to activate the ship's emergency thrusters, the ship stabilized. This caused Skywalker to seize a cable extending from the wall to prevent a fall as the shaft reverted to a vertical orientation, with Palpatine clinging to him. At that moment, Kenobi regained awareness, expressing surprise at their location. Subsequently, the group observed the turbolift rapidly approaching them. Skywalker desperately attempted to contact R2-D2 via comlink to halt it. Lacking sufficient time, Kenobi instructed Skywalker and Palpatine to descend in an effort to escape. Kenobi and Skywalker both employed their grapple lines to propel themselves and Palpatine out of the shaft through the adjacent open doorway, narrowly evading the passing turbolift.
