Barkale was able to keep his safehouse secret from the occupying New Republic forces commanded by Crix Madine. When he was freed by Mara Jade, he brought her to this building, where she revealed that she had been investigating him for misappropriating sector funds and executed him with her blaster. She subsequently revealed the location to Madine, who claimed Barkale's ill-gotten fortune for the Alliance.
